#fitmom

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I live wearing my fitbitflex band.  I started on March30,2014 and today I was looking at my stats.  Fitbit shows my stats starting 3.18.14--maybe 365 days ago?  Anyway I am more than pleased and thankful.  Yesterday I rolled over 2 million steps!!   I have had good days and great days!!! But those who have known me very long know that I have Multiple Sclerosis.  And my progress is truly a miracle.  Twice in 2013 I had episodes that left me unable to walk unassisted more that a couple of feet.  I kept my faith in God that my Creator could heal me and give me the determination to go on.

2 million steps is really huge in my life!  I love my fitbit.  People are always asking me...$100 does it work?  Well....here is the truth.  No, I work.  And it keeps me honest.  I check my stats through out the day and it shows me if I have really been moving or not.  Does it work?  I did Weight Watchers off and on for years.  WW probably works...but I still hauled my own spoon--and spent way more than $100.

The active minutes shown by fitbit--are very active...and unless I am on the treadmill I rarely rack very many.

I love my fitbit:
I love the online community.
I love my friends who are also fitbitters and invite my to daily challenges.
**Tammy an old college friend living in Oklahoma
**Christy friend a couple miles away
**Crystal life long friend in Alabama
**Kelly a friend I know through spinning and weaving in Florida
**Luna--she told me about fitbit to begin with!!

My fitbit is set to vibrate to remind me to take my meds...and several times has saved me!

My neurologist can check my stat charts. And we can go over my averages and see improvement.

Fitbit has been an investment. An investment in my health.

Diaper Duty

So I joined the 40 Bags in 40 Days challenge again this year.  Ann Marie from white House Black Shutters has been hosting this challenge for 5 years.  Last year I completed it and this year that is my goal too.  Whether you do five bags, forty or a hundred you are a winner because you free yourself from more clutter!

Today is my second day...I  was cleaning a shelf in the closet of our master bath...and I found this diaper. I wanted to hide it.  Put it somewhere special.  Because every mom realizes that those size 2 diapers have their own story.  Size 2 diaper is when you realize that guests arrive not bearing baby gifts anymore.  Size 2 actually cost more!  And size 2 is when you are so on your own financially too.  Preemie, newborn and size one are the cutie diapers.  Guests will even offer to change the dirty one because they are so sweet....but size 2?  Oh no they be catching the peas, green beans and prune juice!

Size two screamed because you were out of sight while you took a quick potty break of your own. Size 2 finally had a bowel movement when you got a moment to bathe them.  Size 2 is when you want to sleep through the night! **what a wish!** And you discover the need for size 2 when you have more week than paycheck!

And some of us celebrated picking up the first pack of size 2 along with a pregnancy test.  Don't judge.

I held the little diaper for a moment.  Then I pitched it. Hiding it. Holding it.  Would not put another little baby in my arms.  But yeah I took the picture and I shared it with you.  It is a memory.  And next time a little mommy lets me hold her little size 2 treasure.  I will let her have a moment to breathe, to rest, and maybe I will even pick up a package of those size 2 diapers!

**disclaimer:  my last size 2 will be 7 in April!!There  are many wonderful times after that size 2 diaper but enjoy it too!!

Filofax Love!!!

So my hubby asked what he could get me for Valentines Day. I immediately said I n.e.e.d a Filofax!!  Then I helped him out by putting one in his Amazon cart
So I have busily been organizing it and personalizing it for me.  I am still going to use my punctuate monthly for keeping up with appointments and important events.  The Filofax--is going to track my fitness goals and inspiration for my diet commitment and general need for inspiration
So all afternoon I have been cutting special note paper and laminating a dashboard and creating special paperclips.

Update: Going Postal

So at the end of 2014 I decided that my 2015 mission would be letter writing--a lost art.  Actually now that I have started I have found that letter writing is still very much alive!

So a few weeks into my 2015 mission here are my stats:
✉25 letters written
📨1 letter returned
📭3 responses

I plan to keep on writing!  Everyone needs a little mail love!
